World Cancer Day: Rakesh Roshan Opens Up On His Fight With The Deadly Disease; Says ‘I Knew I Had Cancer Before I Went To Test For It’
Rakesh Roshan, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, opened up about his fight with cancer in a recent interview. On World Cancer Day, Rakesh Roshan shared about his journey, shared his learnings, and talked about the disciplined life he leads. While speaking to Times Of India, Rakesh Roshan said that he had a gut feeling that he had cancer even before he went to test for it. He revealed that it all began with a blister under his tongue which refused to go despite taking medications for it.

“I knew I had cancer even before I went to test for it,” he said. Rakesh Roshan further added that the blister wasn’t giving him any trouble at all, but it wouldn’t go away. “I don't know why but I had a gut feeling that such an obstinate blister could only be cancer. I shared my gut feeling even with the doctor,” said Rakesh Roshan. He added that cancer has to be fought with a very strong mind and he thankfully has a strong mind, and he didn’t let the disease get the better of him.

“I lead a disciplined life. I follow the diet that I have been advised and am particular about my tests as well. I do a PET scan every six months, which is meant to determine if cancer has recurred or spread,” said Rakesh Roshan.

Meanwhile, in a conversation with SpotboyE in 2019, Rakesh Roshan had revealed how his son Hrithik Roshan reacted when he first heard about his father's cancer diagnosis. “As I said, these things are not new for us. So, we address these issues and go all out to rectify them. Never get into a depression. Live life. Cancer is just a big name,” he said.
